-    LGE participates in CeBIT2002, the world's largest multimedia, information, and communications exhibition
-    Introduces latest communication devices such as European standard GSM and GPRS handsets, IMT-2000 handsets, and CDMA handsets

LG Electronics is participating at CeBIT 2002 (www.cebit.de), the world’s largest exhibition for the multimedia, information, and communication industry.

At CeBIT 2002, held from March 13 to 20 in Hannover, Germany, LGE will be displaying the latest communication products like GSM, CDMA handsets as well as ITM-2000 handsets along with digital display products like PDP and LCD.

The participating company for this annual international show of multimedia, information, and communication products for 2002 includes the who’s who of the global information and communication industry. Over 8,000 companies including Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens, and Sony will display their latest handsets and other cutting-edge information and communication products.

Unlike last year, LGE will have two separate exhibitions - Information and Communication Pavilion and DDM (Digital Display Media) Pavilion - to make a distinction between different product characteristics.

▶ Information and Communication Pavilion

The Pavilion has a variety of handsets on display under the theme of "Mobilize Your Life." At the 240 sq.m booth, LGE has highlighted its latest-edge handset product line to increase the company's exposure in Europe - the birthplace of GSM. Displays include GSM handsets (LG-510W and others), which LGE launched last year and 2.5G GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) handsets (LG-G510 and others), which it recently started shipping to China.

Along with GSM, LGE has also on display cutting-edge CDMA handsets like 65,000 color cdma2000 1x handset currently enjoying exponential growth in demand in Korea and VOD phone with embedded camera cdma2000 1x EV-DO handset. CDMA handsets for export like dual mode handsets are also part of the exhibit. LGE drew high interest from CeBIT visitors with display of the best of the latest breed of products and with successful call demonstrations.

LGE's key phone systems that are strong in Europe such as IP-based advanced key phone system (IP-KTS) and private switch (NCD-100) were also introduced along with a wide range of network equipment like WLL handset, routers, and gateway equipment.

▶ DDM Pavilion

The 480 sq. m DDM Pavilion displays LGE's best breed cutting-edge display technology under the theme of "Gateway to Digital."

For the PDP and LCD products line, LGE's major international partners joined the company in display. For PDP, LGE is participating jointly with four companies including Conrac and Able for display of 60-inch as well as50-, 42- and 40-inch PDPs. For LCD, LGE shares the exhibition space with Stadler, Wey Tech and two other partners.

LG.Philips LCD, a LGE affiliate company, is introducing 3 products. They include 30-inch wide LCD for HD TV, 23-inch high resolution (UXGA grade) LCD for monitors, and 17-inch LCD for HDTV/PC monitor. LG.Philips Display is also introducing the 17-inch flat monitor CPT (FLATRON Tube).
